Introduction to Darkroom Course at the West End Community Centre, Vancouver, BC

Curious about how to develop black & white (B&W) film and make your own prints from your negatives?

Then this course is for you.  The course is suitable for those who have no experience in the darkroom or those who are looking for a refresher.

You will develop at least one  roll of film and make at least one print. The course will cover safety, equipment and basic techniques for film developing & printmaking.

You must have a 35mm or 120 film camera. Please bring to the first class one roll of B&W film that you have exposed. We will develop the roll during the first class.

A supply list will be distributed at the first class (aprox. $60).  Beau Photo will give you a student discount on film & paper.

Dates:   Saturdays, January 28 – March 4

Times:  10:00 – 2:00

Price:  $150     (Please note that this is an introductory price and is valid for this offering only.  Subsequent classes will have a higher price.)

Instructor: Susan Jardine has taught a number of darkroom workshops at the WECC darkroom including introductory film developing and printmaking, pinhole camera, painting with developer and photograms.   She is nearing the completion of the Continuing Studies Photography Certificate program at Langara where she has focused on film photography.
